welcome
The Jerry Glassel Music Scholarship was created in memory of our father, husband and friend who passed away on March 1, 2001. Jerry was virtually a self-taught guitar, bass and banjo player who was blessed in other musical areas as well. Throughout the many years of teaching private lessons, Jerry always enjoyed seeing his students’ musical talent blossom. For this reason, his family and close friends wanted to start a scholarship bearing his name so that Jerry could continue to give to young aspiring musicians.
The Jerry Glassel Music Scholarship is designed to help up to four Jackson County high school students to further improve their music ability. An applicant must be a current student in a Jackson County School and in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade musician or vocalist. The scholarship will award each recipient up to $500.00 toward betterment of his/her music abilities. Examples of this might include but not be limited to college expenses, camp tuition, private instruction, equipment, etc.
